Madelynn in Idaho

We went to Idaho to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. We took Madelynn along. We saw the Idaho Falls temple and Archer Elementary. Madelynn made some clothes for GG's poor cold trolls. It was lots of fun.

Rexburg Heritage Parade

Gram and I went to the Rexburg Heritage Parade before the Madison County Fair. It was lots of fun and I loved all the tractors. It took me back to my roots.

4 Girls and a Guy at Trial Lake

I went on a fun camping trip with Jon and his girls. We stayed at Trial Lake in our huge 29' trailer with all the comforts of home. We hiked, fished, swam, and went paddle boating. Madelynn caught her first fish. Aurianna guided us out of the forest and Kalli kept us laughing. Jon did a great job of cooking, chopping, fire building, driving, parking, and chaperoning. We missed Larissa who was at girl's camp. She can fix the girl's hair much better than Nona.

More pictures are coming later when Nona figures out how to make a slide show. We love you Jon and girls!

Treehouse Museum

On Monday Gram and I went with Michelle and children to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden. I went there several years ago when Debbie and Joe were young, but it has really changed. It's an amazing fun place for kids and adults. Sophie and Austin loved all the costumes, the blocks, and the interactive materials. Sophie's favorite was the big dinosaur puzzle and playing a big bunch of different musical instruments. I taught Austin to play chess on a giant board with pieces about his size. Gram pushed Jackson around in his stroller and Michelle had an outing! All in all it was a great day.

Spudman Triathalon Winners!

We traveled to Burley, Idaho to see David, Jon, and J.O. compete as a team in the Spudman triathalon. J.O started the event by swimming in the chilly Snake River for 1.5 k. He streaked by Jon in his wet suit, but luckily found him so he could transfer his ankle band. Then Jon roared off on his bike for an intense 40 K (25 mile) bike ride. After a thrilling ride Jon passed the band to David who ran the final 10K on flat ground until mile 4 &5 up a killer hill and then down across the finish. Each guy finished his event in record time and this terrific team won their event!! Gram and Trisa cheered the boys and Keith snapped pictures on this memorable day.
P.S. When the winners were posted the next day, we were happy to hear that the boys' team placed first!!! Way to go guys!

Beach Buddies

We visited Deb and David in sunny CA, home of beautiful beaches. Deb drove us to New Brighton beach near Santa Cruz. We sat in our beach chairs, ate a picnic, and read our books. Deb and I walked to Sea Cliff beach to see a smelly old ship covered with sea birds. We waded in the waves, watched the Junior Lifeguards splash in the sea, and saw fishing boats with huge nets. Many thanks to Deb, our tour guide and taxi driver, for a memorable day.
